Privacy policy

This website, robbieventer.com, is run by me, Robert (Robbie) Venter, as an individual. I am based in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. Where this page says "I" or "me", it means me.

I only collect what you choose to give me, plus basic statistics about visits. Giving me your details is your choice, but without them I can't reply to you or send you The Letter.

• The Letter and free resources. When you join The Letter or ask for a free guide or resource, I collect your email address, and your first name if the form asks for it. I use it to send you what you asked for and my occasional emails.
• Messages and enquiries. When you use the contact form or another enquiry form on this site, I collect your name, email address, organisation (if you give one) and your message. I use them to read and reply to you.
• Investment opportunities. If you submit an opportunity on the Invest page, I collect what you put in the form: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, details about your company, and any pitch deck you upload. I use it to review the opportunity and to contact you if it is a fit.
• Visit statistics. My website host, Lovable, records basic information about visits: the pages you view, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, your approximate country and how fast pages load. It uses a cookie called session-id that expires after 30 minutes. I use these numbers to see what people read and to keep the site working well, not to identify you.

I advertise on Google. To see which ads work, and to show my ads again to people who have already visited, this site may use the Google tag. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to record that you visited, which pages you viewed and whether you signed up after clicking an ad.

Third-party vendors, including Google, show my ads on sites across the internet. They use cookies and/or device identifiers to show ads based on your past visits to this website and other websites.

You can turn off personalised ads from Google in Google's My Ad Center, and opt out of many other advertising companies' cookies at optout.aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

I never sell your personal information, and I never share it so that others can market to you.

I use a few service providers to run this site and my email. They handle your information only to provide their service to me:

• Lovable, which hosts this website and stores form submissions in its cloud database (built on Supabase).
• Google, for my email inbox and, when ads are running, Google Ads.
• An email delivery service, when I send The Letter.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside South Africa, for example in the United States. I may also share information if the law requires me to.

• The Letter: until you unsubscribe.
• Enquiries and investment opportunities: for as long as I need them to reply and follow up. Then I delete them.
• The visit-statistics cookie expires after 30 minutes.

Every email from The Letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are off the list. You can also email contact@robbieventer.com with the word "unsubscribe" and I will remove you.

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask me:

• what personal information I hold about you,
• to correct or delete it, and
• to stop using it, including for marketing emails.

Email your request to contact@robbieventer.com. There is no charge. I will reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator.

Everything you send through this site travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored in a private database that the public cannot read. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

This site is not meant for children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

This site links to other sites, such as Zenith Academy, Venter Capital and the Wealth Archetype quiz. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this page does not cover.

If I change this policy, I will update this page and the date at the top.
