The operator first
Judgement, honesty and stamina matter more to me than the deck. I would rather back a serious person in an ordinary market than the reverse.
Cash that is real
Businesses that generate cash, or that have a credible route to it, hold my attention longer than projections do.
A long horizon
I am interested in things that can still be standing in a generation, not in a quick exit.
