Solomon remains one of the most fascinating figures in Scripture because he had both wisdom and wealth at extraordinary scale — and because the same text that celebrates his rise also records his decline. That tension is the entry point.
Solomon's Secrets is not a prosperity manual. It is a study in what happens when wisdom comes first, when wealth follows, and when the builder forgets the source of both. It asks what Solomon actually requested, what he built, what he got right, and where the cracks appeared.
The book draws out principles for modern builders: the order in which wisdom and wealth should arrive, the difference between riches and productive wealth, the danger of alliances that look strategic but corrode conviction, and the long-term cost of building for oneself rather than for purpose.
If wisdom is the principal thing, as the proverb says, then it is worth understanding how the wisest man who ever lived both used it and lost it.
